This is one of the most important athletic skills that you can develop as players spend 90% of a game in the acceleration phase.

By correcting your acceleration technique and improving your force production, you will be on your way to becoming an explosively fast player on the field.

Larger muscles = stronger and more powerful muscles.

 

By working on building muscle size (Hypertrophy), you are building a solid base to increase your body's tolerance to training and, providing your body with the ability to then build strength.  It's so important!

Strength plays a massive role in the performance of a rugby player as it's the foundation for several physical abilities that are important in rugby like size, speed, power and endurance.

 

Strength will allow you to run faster, tackle harder, jump higher, recover quicker and reduce the risk of injury.

03 - BUILT A STRONG ENDURANCE BASE 

Rugby is a game of intensive physical demands including sprinting, tackling, kicking, passing and more. 

As soon as you become fatigued all those physical demands dramatically result in affected in poor decision-making, bad passes and missed tackles.  You can't make split-second decisions - they type that will win or lose your game - under fatigue.

A strong endurance base will allow you to perform at a high level throughout the entire game when other players are under fatigue.

Once you're locked in, you will receive all of your pre-training material in preparation to commence the challenge on Monday 24th October 2022.

 

You can start anytime during the week as long as you have a rest day between each training session and you have completed all sessions by Sunday.  There are 3 sessions each week to complete.

Simply send through a video (side-view) of you sprinting before the start of the online challenge so that we can break down your acceleration mechanics and provide you with an easy-to-read report.
